What does it mean to you to help train and graduate more doctors for patients and communities across B.C.?
I am incredibly proud to work with the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s training programs in the Interior. Working at a distributed site, I have had the opportunity to see Southern Medical Program graduates, as well as residents who have completed training programs in the Interior, return to practice — and teach — in the communities where they trained. These kinds of full-circle stories are particularly inspiring. With more training seats in the MD Undergraduate Program and the Postgraduate Medical Education Program, we will continue to have a positive impact on the lives of British Columbians and the health of communities across the province. It’s very exciting.
